KidsPeace

Since 1882, KidsPeace has dedicated their efforts to helping youth in crisis and bringing healing to children, families, and communities. The existing KidsPeace facility offers room, board, and watchful oversight, but the continued expansion of the private charity required additional space.

Concept Sketch:

Pieper O’Brien Herr Architects’ design of the new unit comfortably houses 20 young women within a therapeutic, compassionate space. Clerestory windows allow an abundance of natural light to flood in. The expansion features additional security measures and integrates rooms that are unable to be barricaded from the inside to ensure safety.
