POH+W Architects’ Interiors Studio designed a new office environment to support the administrative functions of the Atlanta, Georgia, branch of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The interior renovation transformed an existing six-story building, providing space for the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) across five floors. Office suites for 20 VHA departments include a mix of private offices, workstations, breakrooms, and conference rooms.
Staff amenities include a fitness center, mothers’ rooms, and meditation rooms. A large town hall space with a movable room divider offers flexibility for larger gatherings. New ADA-compliant restrooms were added on each floor. To ensure uninterrupted service, the project incorporated a data center and an emergency generator.

Acoustics were a key design focus, with sound transmission between spaces minimized through thoughtful wall and ceiling detailing and the use of acoustical products. The scope also included a light exterior update, giving the building a more modern office appearance.
